| Although the following
instructions look complicated, they are intended for the absolute beginner to use, and many of the instructions will be unnecessary for those of you who are more advanced. |

| A | Firstly you need to find out the type of Internet Browser you are using :- | |
| 1. | Look at the top of your Internet Browser window, and click on Help with the mouse | |
| 2. | Move the cursor down over the line containing About | |
| 3. | Then click with the mouse
button, a window will appear displaying information about the Browser. |

| 4. | Make a note of the Type and Version of the Browser | |
| 5. | Close down this information window | |
| B | You should now know what Type and Version of Browser you are using | |
| C | To set the Start Page carry out the following. | |
| Netscape Navigator 3.x | ||
| Netscape Navigator 4.x | ||
| Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.x | ||

If you are using Netscape
Navigator 3.x |

| 1. | Click on [Options]
on the top menu where it reads [File Edit View Go Bookmarks Options Directory Window Help] |

| 2. | Move the cursor down to [General Preferences] and click. | |
| 3. | Click on the [Appearance] tab. | |
| 4. | Ensure that in the Startup section, that the tick box next to Netscape Browser is ticked. | |
| 5. | Click the Home Page Location button so that it is on. | |
| 6. | In the box under Home Page Location type in the following | |
| 7. | http://www.villagenet.co.uk/esussex-iron/search.html | |
| 8. | Now click on [OK] and your browser will start from the above search page. | |
If you click the Home button on the browser this is the page you go to. |

If you are using Netscape
Navigator/Communicator 4.x |

| 1. | Browse the Internet to the page you want as your starting page. | |
| 2. | Click on [Edit] on the top menu where it reads [File Edit View Go Communicator Help] | |
| 3. | Move the cursor down to Preferences and click. | |
| 4. | Click on the [-]--Navigator item, it might show [+]--Navigator. | |
| 4. | Ensure that the Home page button is checked. | |
| 5. | Click on the [Use Current Page] button and the text in the Location box will change | |
| 6. | Finally click on [OK] and your browser will start from the page in item 1. | |
If you click the Home button on the browser this is the page you go to. |

If you are using Microsoft
Internet Explorer 3.x |

| 1. | Browse the Internet to the page you want as your starting page. | |
| 2. | Click on [View] on the top menu where it reads [File Edit View Go Favourites Help]. | |
| 3. | Move the cursor down to [Options] and click. | |
| 4. | Click on the tab marked [Navigation]. | |
| 5. | Ensure the [Page] button is set to [Start Page]. | |
| 6. | Under the [Address] section press the button [Use Current]. | |
| 7. | Click on [OK] and your browser will start from the page in item 1. | |
