Rare Breeds Centre, Woodchurch

at Highlands Farm, Woodchurch , Kent
Home to a large collection of Rare British Farm Animals phone 01233-861493

[WebSite]

The Rare Breeds Centre is home to a large collection of rare British farm breeds, where you can get close to "history on the hoof". Meet the Bagot goat, brought home to England by the Crusaders, the Lincoln Longwool sheep dating back to Roman times. These are some of the ancient breeds from farming's past, which may hold a vital role in farming's future, by providing a genetic pool.

Come and see our spring lambs, summer calves, and always a lot of piglets! Stroll through bluebell woods or take a trailer ride and enjoy views over miles of glorious Kent countryside.

There are special pens where children can play with piglets and other small animals, in our Childrens Barn.

We are also the home for the Canterbury oast Trust, a charity determined to give disabled people an equal place in society.

Opening times:

We are open all year
1st April - 30th September 10:30a.m. - 5:30p.m. daily
1st October - 31st March 10:30a.m. - 4:30p.m. closed Mondays
