Robertsbridge Age Concern Club run by local volunteers meets every Monday.
except Bank Holidays, at 10.30 a.m. in Robertsbridge Hall. After tea or
coffee and conversation among friends, a trained expert conducts beneficial
seated exercises, but these are in no way compulsory.
An excellent lunch comes at about 12.15, sometimes cooked at home by helpers.
A twenty pence raffle is followed by a cup of tea while members enjoy a game
of cards, Scrabble or Trionimos and others prefer craft work such as basketry.
Some even just sit and chat. Occasionally there is a Bingo session or an entertainer.
In the summer coach outings to Eastbourne, Bewl Water , Burwash and similar places
are a regular feature. On these occasions the meeting time may vary. There are
no age limits - over or under - and no joining fee but a charge of £3.00, is
made for the lunch and beverages The atmosphere is friendly and helpful and
transport is available where there is a need.
