8. Woods, marshes, pasture

This walk is found on the Ordnance Survey 1:25000 Sheet TQ 62/72 entitled Robertsbridge (OS may have updated) and walkers are advised to have a copy with them on the walk.

Location :- Around Robertsbridge
Between the villages of Etchingham and Robertsbridge
Start :- Grid Ref 713250
Distance :- Approx distance - 4.2 miles
Route :- Round walk - Follow the farm road east to Squibs Farm, take the north track from the Farm through Gigmore Wood towards Lundsford Farm but double back on the footpath alongside the railway going south again.

Cross railway and proceed south towards Ockham House.

Take the higher path past the Almonds then drop down on to the levels again, cross river and railway towards Bugsell Farm but turn right (north-west) at footpath cross roads and follow path back to Squibs Farm and thence to start point.
Look out for :- Pleasant views of Rother valley especially around Ockham House.
The old lane and bridge which would have been an old carriage approach to Ockham House.

Please remember the Country Code and respect for land owners when walking and ensure you have parked your car where it will not be a hazard to other road users.
