2. Batts Wood and Wadhurst Park Lake

This walk is found on the Ordnance Survey 1:25000 Sheet TQ 62/72 entitled Robertsbridge (OS may have updated) and walkers are advised to have a copy with them on the walk.

Location :- The Rother Valley (above Witherenden Bridge).
between the villages of Stonegate and Wadhurst .
Start :- Grid Ref 637266
Distance :- Approx distance - 2.8 miles
Route :- Round walk - Take footpath north up the hill from Bivelham Forge Farm past Batt's Wood Cottage, then descend towards Dens Wood but turn left before reaching the Wood towards Wadhurst Park Lake.

Follow the fence then turn south up the hill, exiting Batts Wood in the south west corner. Descend the past Golds Farm to Pound Bridge and start.
Look out for :- Deer and wildfowl in Wadhurst Park and fine views to north and south from the Batt's Wood ridge.

Please remember the Country Code and respect for land owners when walking and ensure you have parked your car where it will not be a hazard to other road users.
