3. Woods, Fields and Railway Crossings
| This walk is found on the Ordnance Survey 1:25000 Sheet TQ 62/72 entitled Robertsbridge (OS may have updated) and walkers are advised to have a copy with them on the walk. |

| Location :- | The Rother Valley (above Witherenden Bridge).
between the villages of Stonegate and Wadhurst. |
| Start :- | Grid Ref 641289 |
| Distance :- | Approx distance - 2.7 miles |
| Route :- | Round walk - Take footpath south from Churchsettle Lane to Dens Wood.
At the south end of the wood loop back on the footpath towards Dens Farm but before the Farm take a right then left to follow the footpath north to the railway and Churchsettle Farm (Care crossing the railway). Cross over Churchsettle Lane and strike north-west towards Scragg Oak but at footpath crossroads turn left towards Buttons. Another railway crossing is necessary but this is much safer than the first. |
